History

Since 1952, Your Legacy Federal Credit Union has been a member-driven financial institution dedicated to your needs and opinions, striving every day to provide you with the credit union difference.

The credit union was created on the foundation of personal member service on February 20, 1952 by H. McClellan and Monsignor R. Gabel. Named St. Joseph Parish, Tiffin, Federal Credit Union, business was a small and individual service, as one founding member recalls: “We used to set up card tables on Sundays down in the basement of the Rectory to take deposits.”

The credit union has come a long way since then! Expanding beyond the basement of St. Joseph’s Church, the credit union soon grew to offer student loans (1960s), quarterly dividends (1983), and share draft, or checking, accounts (1985). In April of 1987, St. Joseph Parish, Tiffin, Federal Credit Union officially became Tiffin St. Joseph Federal Credit Union. In 2003, the credit union was awarded a community charter which opened membership to all of Seneca County. On June 2nd, 2014, a new name was launched: Your Legacy Federal Credit Union.

Over the years, more than 6,400 member owners have been able to obtain the financial services they need to be successful because of the existence of Your Legacy Federal Credit Union. Our staff is committed to providing its members with high quality financial services.

You are an important part of our organization; you are the reason we exist. The strength of the credit union depends on you. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, your co-workers, and your family.
